Assessment and Therapy Services

A short screening assessment for children aged 0 – 3 years to help determine if your child’s language and communication skills are on track for their age. 

A short summary report can be provided on request (+£35)

Assessment takes place over 2 sessions (each lasting 1 hour) and is required before any intervention or therapy can begin.

Includes:

• In-depth consultation around your concerns and your child’s development so far
• Detailed assessment (using both formal and informal assessments and observations) 
• Written report setting out findings of the session and recommendations
• One Session can take place School/nursery if appropriate

For children who have previously had a Speech and Language assessment elsewhere or children under the age of 3. 

Includes:

• A consultation about your concerns and your child's development so far
• Assessment using both formal and informal assessments and observations to look closely at the areas of concern
• Verbal feedback on the results of the assessment and results of the assessment and recommendations
• Written report on request (+£55)
• Additional school/nursery visit (+£60)

This is a one-off appointment following a period of therapy or 'waiting' to review your child's progress.

Report can be provided on request (£35)

1 to 1 therapy sessions at home or school. The nature and frequency of sessions will depend upon your child's needs and a therapy plan and clear targets will be agreed before sessions being. Parents are encouraged to attend sessions wherever possible and activities to support progress will be provided to complete between sessions.

A shorter weekly therapy session that takes places in your child's school/nursery (with the settings permission), usually when a group of children are seen within the same setting. 

Individually- tailored therapy programmes can be provided (with clear activities and resources) to support target areas identified during assessment. These can be  carried out at home or school and delivered by a parent/carer/school staff either alongside or in place of individual therapy sessions. A review session is recommended following an agreed length of time.

Price is dependant on complexity of programme

Consultation visit to a child's school or nursery to 

• observe how your child's language and communication difficulties are impacting on their social interaction and access to the curriculum and learning opportunities 
• support and equip education staff to develop a communication-friendly environment and incorporate any adaptations or 1to1/small group sessions into the daily provision for your child

Visits require the agreement of the setting and protected time from your child's key staff member

I am able to contribute to Case Conferences, Annual Reviews and other meetings related to your child's needs in person and/or providing a report. Advance notice of at least 14 days is required.
